We're looking for a Product Designer

4-day work week (32hrs) · €45-55k · Amsterdam (hybrid)

Homerun is the people-first hiring tool designed for SMBs.

We believe SMBs are some of the most interesting and meaningful places to work. What they lack in size, they make up for with creativity, purpose and culture. For these companies, we've built a modern hiring tool that reflects their uniqueness.

Our product lets teams keep track of candidates, review applications, keep candidates in the loop, and plan interviews all from one organised app.

Homerun also helps companies showcase their unique brand & culture with customisable job posts, career pages and candidate-friendly application forms.

About the Product Team ⚾️

Our goal is to create a top-notch hiring tool designed especially for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Most hiring tools out there are made for expert recruiters, but in SMBs, it's usually the hiring managers and interviewers who use them. We believe these users deserve a tool that's just as easy, modern, and fun to use as the other apps they work with every day. Since hiring isn't their main job, our tool guides them through the messy and complicated hiring process, even if they're not experts.

We're a small team: 8 engineers, 1 product designer, and 1 product manager. We work in 6-weeks cycles, inspired by Basecamp's Shape Up method, and take time to understand our customers. We do this through regular customer calls and visits, working closely with our customer support team, and utilise a beta community for valuable input. As a product designer at Homerun you are a full and proactive participant of the product development process.

About the job

You'll spend your time designing, building and crafting the product: UX, UI, visual design, interaction design, user research, you name it.

You'll work closely with your peers in engineering and product. You'll help drive projects from pitch to execution, doing "proof of concept" work with the engineers, and doing the detailed design work needed to help build and ship value to our customers. You'll also do QA and solve for edge cases, ensuring a high-quality product experience.

You'll regularly talk to customers to get a thorough first-hand understanding of their needs. You'll investigate and test the problems you're solving and the solutions you're producing.

You'll support in product discovery, defining design concepts, and shaping the projects we are planning to build. In doing so you'll help set direction for the product.

About you

We're looking for a talented product designer who's excited to join a small team and help build a beautiful product.

  • You can demonstrate a strong or developing skillset in interaction and visual design

  • Some experience doing user research, like contextual interviews and usability testing

  • Ability to work proactively and work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment

  • Passion for creating intuitive, user-friendly products that solve real problems for customers
